Our team’s objective was to create a series of lessons to train new system engineers through AR (Augmented Reality). We started with the basics of control desk operations, then to specific operations such as switching power operations.
In this project, my first task was to create a way for the user to map their current desk monitors to fiducial markers in the Halolens headset. This is the first step in setting up the user for further lessons.
Once the user has been through a few lessons, we use a session called a “Knowledge Check.” It quizzes the user on their knowledge of the material they have learned. We used this after many lessons and looked for ways to gamify this to the entertaining process.
