Small Size Studies

As a user experience designer, we solve problems large and small. Here are a bunch of “bite-size” user problems not showcased in my case studies. These can be more of a challenge, and finding a solution is not as simple. Here are the solutions we came up with for these mini user problems.

Out of Stock

One of the smaller issues when working on the Dolphins Plus website was the inventory. Many item are “out of stock”. We remedied this with the user having the option to receive notifications. These notification tell the users when the item is restocked and ready to purchase

Drug Interaction Warning

With multiple prescriptions, many of them have serious side effects if interacted with the wrong medication. Having warnings can help the user be aware of the dangers of other medications and supplements.

Score Submission Note

During user testing, we received a lot of feedback regarding the hierarchy of the “important note” button. The important note that we wanted to include mentions the rules of score submission, and the members must read this for their scores to be counted accurately. Initially, we had this button on every slide with the red exclamation mark, which led users to think that they’ve made or encountered an error. We replaced the exclamation mark with a checkmark once the user acknowledged the note and removed it from the following frames.
